Our Story

Rhonda, a graduate of Pathway Christian School, met Jeff Yoder, a Michigan native, in Rosedale Mennonite Mission’s REACH program in 2002 and they have been married for six years. While at Rosedale and in REACH they enjoyed spending time in coffee houses and found them a great place to study and build relationships. Desiring to provide this type of atmosphere for Kalona, they spent much of the summer of 2010 remodeling and sprucing up the old veterinary clinic where the coffee house is now located and opened just in time for the Fall Festival in September 2010. The Kalona Coffee House has proved to be a great meeting place for the community and Jeff & Rhonda feel it will also be a unique experience for tourists, in part because of the local artists’ work that is on display.
